what is the function of a cell membrane in all cells?
First, the cell membrane encloses the internal contents of the cell and provides protection for the cell against mechanical stimulation. Secondly, the membrane of the cell selectively allows the entry of needed nutrients and water into the cell, and selectively allows the release of waste products.
